In his incarnation, Jesus welcomes all of humanity and our human experience into his presence, into his being. Jesus knows what it's like to be a person. To be a complex human being with thoughts and feelings and everything going awry inside you.

He understands. It is not a naive or third party sort of welcome that God offers to us. It's a welcome of understanding, of walking in our shoes, of seeing you to the depth of your being, to the fullest extent of your life experience.

That radical acceptance, that radical welcome, that security of being known and loved in spite of being known, that is what frees us up to engage with others with a measure of grace and generosity.

Because, Jesus understands us. And Jesus understands them and he accepts them. And he invites us to do the same.
